KOTA-When Francis Meets Rempah @ Fort Cornwallis

Me and the mental statue of Francis Light

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting the latest cafe in Penang: KOTA- When Ferancis Meets Rempah @ Fort Cornwallis. Fort Cornwallis is the largest standing fort in Malaysia and also the oldest structures in Penang. That's how it became one of the well known tourism spot. So I think it's really cool to have a restaurant inside.

The large dining room windows frame a view of the beautiful garden. It's a very relaxed environment, by matching interior brightness to outside light is another way for the restaurant to keep it's atmosphere relaxed and natural.

And the place is rather impressive and spacious

Believe it or not, Kota is the first restaurant that combined the local taste buds into a fusion style of foods. If you love fine foods as much as I do, you should really try it yourselves.

Homemade juices are available in two flavors, you can go for your preference

Nutmeg? Ambarella or me? lolll. I would definitely go for the nutmeg for sure, as it is utterly refreshing during hot days. While Ambarella juice (commonly known as Ampula) is served with sour plum, so it taste a bit sour. Priced at RM14.00 per bottle.

Dancing Goat Coffee

Dancing goat is a kind of hand drip coffee bean from Etophia Conga, one of their best selling coffee. Coffee is something that can be very addictive, so if you love coffee, this is for you. But I am not a coffee person, so I cant tell much about it. sooo sorry :(

The barista was doing live demonstration

The first dish was Briyani, it was really satisfying for an appetizer. The basmati rice really goes super well with the lamb and masala, and wrapper with banana leaf, that we usually call it as pulut panggang. Besides, it come with papadum which is a wafer thin spicy Indian cracker, it can be also eaten as snack! My favourite when I was a kid.

Hokkien (Rm25.00)

The signature dish itself named as Hokkien, generously topped with blue prawn, shallot, chili, and caviar bisque. The broth was sweet and flavorful to my liking, and it wasn't spicy at all.

Laksa (RM25.00)

Well the laksa is so different from what you've seen. It is wrapped with rice paper and laksa leaf to give a strong, mint and peppery flavor.Besides that, there's some other ingredients such as kesom, cucumber, pineapple, mackerel, and galangai. You have to dip it into the curry soup base, what a flavorful authentic recipe. yummy!!

Nyonya (RM25.00)

A dish that stood out to me was Nyonya, it is traditionally made with Otak-otak and butterfly pea flower coconut rice, often combined with achar and rendang chicken. Soo mouthwatering, highly recommended!!!

And the last dish was called as Satay! Chicken satay with peanut sauces accompanied by spices, brown sugar, lemongrass and ginger. It was wrapped in ice cubes and I mistakenly thought it was sushi LOLLL. Priced at RM25.00.

Anyway, if you sometimes have cravings for those Nyonya dishes ( like me!) and want to try something different, I would personally recommend you to Kota! So here's the additional information for you, xoxo!

Gather's Cafe

Bello dearies, my girls and I went to cafe exploring again! My life is boring though, we were initially blogging half way in Who's Bryan and I was the one who suggested very randomly! So we went to Gathers cafe which located at Raja Uda, Butterworth. More and more cafes are mushrooming in Penang Island and Butterworth, I am going to be a cafe hunter very soon!

We drove all the way from Island to Butterworth, definitely worth it for us to hunt for delicious food! Thanks to our awesome driver, Gillian so we found the cafe very easily. She always drive like a fast and furious, I am not kidding LOLLL. Lemme remind you, remember to put on your seat belt if you have chance to carpool with her :)

Gathers cafe:

I was stunned. 22 rules lolll

There's some magazine hanging on the wall

Gathers cafe probably the strictest cafe that I ever been as you have to follow 22 rules! I felt a lil bit awkward to talk louder after I read the board sign. However, I enjoy the quality foods and I was quite desperate to take picture!

No doubt Gathers cafe has a very cozy environment I would say, a nice place for friends gathering and escape from hectic life! Most of all I love their interior design with comfy chairs. They serve coffee and beverages by adding creative coffee arts, a brilliant idea that make the cafe outstanding from the others. Anyway the teddy bears seems too innocent, just cant resist the cuteness I don't bear to drink it :'( Boyf and I wish to run our own cafe, own pastries somedays! With aviation theme, what do you think??

TAO @Auto City

December is awesome, especially this year and we had many events to go on. I've been partyyyy from the beginning until the end of the month,  celebrated 121212, doomsday and dong zhi. What about the next coming soon of Christmas eve, Christmas and New year eve? No wonder I feel like why my camera full of selca pictures, overloaded but I still haven't done with my blog, oh my godness.

I was having fun like almost everyday. " Eh eh behave lahhh." I reminded myself yet when my friends called up. Ermmm okay last round! Make no point in the end  LOLLL. Cannot be, goshhhh!

So today gonna have a quick update about food post before I lazy. This was my class celebration at TAO @Auto City at Wednesday night. Seriously it was a real FOOD post, as I am going to post all of the foods. HUGE? Did you know that I took almost one hour to edit my picha, only FOOD and this really made me starving lahh at this hour. Basically TAO was a buffet dinner, eat as you can! Mouth watering*

The first entrance

The Bar

We had a small talk before the food come. And as usual, selca! I was the only one with camera that night I guess, At first I felt awkward to take pictures as everyone is preparing to eat and I stopped them. "Wait, sorry let me capture first." But luckily no one blamed me , in exchanged I must post all of them in ma blog :) So here the photos. Hopefully I never miss anyone else.

I was giggling that evil, dafuqqqq#

And the presentable and delicious foods ever! Salmon. Scallops. Craps. Sushi. Steak. Abalones. MORE. Tao is more specialized in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Taiwan and Thai cuisine.  Slurppppp!  We did ordered many foods that night, non stop eating from 6pm until closing time. Their buffet style is really so great so awesome! Ughh I miss my the chessy abaloneeeee and grill salmon fish. Forever can't resist to good food.

Scallops! Ma love

We were there for quite long because we din't know where to go for second round. Starbucks was nearby, so deal? But in the end we went to the Auto City market there, guess what? Selca again LOLLL. " Heyy make sure I am in your blog", they reminded me. I was like: Alrightttt, I am gonna squeeze everyone in!" Fair and square.

But I was blaming my camera all the time. I was not really familiar with my Lumix setting so the outcomes were a abit.... Shittttt. Please pardon it :(
